'13 IOM 1LE

I ordered my car in March of 2013 and after waiting a few months it showed up May 22, 2013. This vehicle was a gift to myself for starting my profession, which I still do today. It also was a 21st birthday gift. The car was a daily driver so the warranty actually meant something to me... (I know, how boring). After 5 years of DD service the mods began and the car became a weekend warrior/garage queen.

My plan since buying the car was keeping it looking very close to stock to have a somewhat of a sleeper. I think I've done that pretty well, just looks like a normal 5th gen.

Future Visual Mods (could care less about these):

I wanted my car to stand out a little more and I wasn't a fan of the huge yellow bowtie on an orange a black car so I went to phastek.com and bought a bowtie black out kit and a smoked "light protection" kit and some side gills.

The car looked much better to me. I had the black out kit on all my lights but I thought the head lights were way too dim so I ended up taking off them off the head lights and fog lamps.

After countless hours of browsing Camaro5, I found a local Camaro Club and once my schedule permitted, I went to one of their meets. Happened to be a cruise Bradenton to hit the drag strip. The track temp was 102 and the air temp was in the 90s with typical FL humidity. Also, the being my 2nd car and first manual, I didn't do so good.

On a side note, Bad Dad (C5 member) showed up with his 9 second Camaro and I got to watch that monster get dialed in.

Decided to make my car a little more unique and added a 1LE emblem to the rear along with some hash marks, and a rear black out. Also wanted a little more power so I purchased a Halltech CAI.

Got to make it to another club meet at Hot Rod Nationals. While I was there somebody ripped my hash marks attempting to pull them off? Its beyond me who touches a car at a car show......

Anyway, I bought the "1LE style hash marks" from forum member SSTG

Thanks!

I'm sure your loving your 1LE though. If that was your IOM in your signature it looks awesome.

Trying to talk a friend into buy the NS-1 kit. Got him to look at it the other day and likes it a lot.

Haven't driven the 1LE enough (274 miles) yet.

The SS in my Sig was indeed mine. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks again for supporting us, there is no better compliment!

Matt @ FSP had his 2nd annual dyno day. I wanted to buy a vmax ported TB but apparently Vmax's porting machine broke and FSP along with Apex and other places are sold out so no TB for me. But I got a chance to finally see what my car is making

Received a present for my car. Our anniversary was 2 days ago so I bought a gift and put it on before work. Something I've been wanting to have for a long time. Completely cured the throttle lag.

A little catching up for my uneventful thread. I did some minor things to my car over the last thread update. Nothing huge but it was something.

I added black Camaro emblems and 1LE emblems, Solo High Flow Cats, MGW shifter, Aeroforce interceptor gauges and Holley Blackheart shortie headers.

High flow cat thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=382179

Videos:

The MGW is great, I'll have to upload some pictures of that

Gauges with aeroforce pod

Installed shortie headers. I wish they were coated or something, the heat off of these are ridiculous but offered a 30lb weight reduction vs the stock manifolds.

Thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430977

Videos (Headers and Cats):

Now changing spark plugs are really fun with these!

I'm still on the factory tune. I've had my fuel trim and AFR logged and they are still safe and not lean. I haven't dyno'd my car since I put the headers on. That's still to come.

Long time since I've updated.

The car has went through some minor changes.
Visually, all I've done is an Anvil spoiler, had it painted matte black. polished the car and ceramic coated it.

Performance wise, I had solo high flow cats on with factory manifolds. Then threw on Holley blackheart shorties. Then went back to factory manifolds. I went back because the car was under warranty, I went to Bradenton Motorsports Park and ran the car.....well it went slower. It needed to be tuned and those headers were clearly hurting the performance. My previous PB was a 12.8, I ended up running a 13.4. The weather was so much better, there's no reason I shouldn't have went faster.

Fast forward, warranty expired, went with JBA cat deletes. Ran those for a little and stumbled across a set of stainless works headers on the classifieds. Installed those along with a Rick Crawford "rod mod" intake, got a tune from Redline Motorsports. Went back to Bradenton in the middle of summer, 2000+DA end up running a 12.6.

Recently I got the mod bug and completed my phase 1 build which was just a simple cam and heads. But I went all out. Instead of porting oem heads, I bought FED M311s for the future TT build. Got a healthy cam, while waiting on the parts, i figured why not just get it setup on flex fuel, so got injectors as well. This is what it made, which was a 51whp increase. After 1500 miles of driving the car with its addition power, i launch the car and it blows right through the clutch. Feels like the car is spinning, I pedal it, didn't help, shift to 2nd, pegs the limiter. Clutch in..... got a good whiff of that burnt clutch smell. Drove home, the gears were super notchy and I had to fight to get it into reverse. Upgraded the clutch to a Mcleod RXT.
