Novie LE has owned both and wrote up a very concise spot on comparison. He owns a 1LE so you know his conclusion. As muscle car owners we can't get all worked up about faster cars, it will always be thus. In the next couple of years we may have other cars to whine about other than 5.0s.

That is already one bad ass looking car. Super clean. You are making me put my Heritage grill on.

I was thinking stock block. If we start looking at the catalogs things get fun fast. It is a good time to be a motor head. Even better than back in the day.

My stock 2010 SS has never been beaten by a stock GT. No matter what year it is. 2010 up to 2014. I do not know what drag strip you all go to but it has never happened in Fayetteville N.C. Bring your GT (Stock) and we'll see and make a video.

The new 5.0's are lighter, have closer transmission gearing, and similar power.
From a previous post I made: DA was 3323 I drove both my car (SS) and the wife's car (5.0) tonight within 15 minutes of each other. Say what you want but with the same driver, power shifting both cars, same track, same 60'... the 5.0 was simply faster and would have run even better had it not spun through half of second gear and the first part of third gear. SS - 13.3 @ 108 2.0 60' - CAI - Flowmaster Hush Power Mufflers - VMAX Throttle Body - Factory High Octane Tune (Fuse Pull) 5.0 - 13.1 @ 109 2.0 60' - K&N drop in air filter - Flowmaster American Thunder Mufflers Corrected for altitude the times would have been: SS - 12.7 @ 112 5.0 - 12.5 @ 113 |

The point I am making is in an actual race a 5.0 has never beaten my SS. Once you actually get in a race side by side, things happen.

Do you have a ZL1 or SS?
Stock for stock I was right there, I did go 13.15. But I had SS friends who went slower like 13.4's who got beat.
