In terms of body design I feel that the 5th and 6th gen. Camaros have done well. I have not seen any robust designs coming from non performance cars in general for at least two decades. I feel that the last great design period was probably during the mid seventies.

Definitely 5th Gen Camaro but not a fan of the 6th Gen. I'm old school (maybe just old is a better description) so I also have to give credit to the Dodge Challenger. Since it was introduced back in 2008/2009, it has continued to remain, for the most part, unchanged other than introducing a wide-body which makes the car look even more "muscular".

The Challenger widebody is the best looking muscle car. I like it too. But only because of the smaller wide wheels and the pulled out fenders. This makes the result absolutely perfect! Otherwise, (for me) Challenger is a nasty, fat and heavy ingot cut like a salami |

5th Gen's rule, the best body lines. Why did Chevy have to ruin the C pillar on the 6th Gen and make it look more like a Mustang?

This. I don't like the rear window shape or the back half of the 6th gen either. Also, I think GM could've kept the 5th gen body design around longer. 6 model years is/was a little too short.

The 5th Gen Camaro is bigger and bolder than the '69 Camaro and so it reminds me of the '69 Chevelle. You had to be there in '69, maybe, lusting after muscle cars, to see the difference. |

I had (have?) really wanted a nice '67-'68 Camaro SS for the longest time. I owned a '69 about 20 years ago, but I didn't like it as much as the '67-'68. I know that most people drool over the '69, but I think unless it has the RS package, the inboard placement of the headlights (leaving that little gap between the outer edge of the light and where the fender opening sits) was a stylistic mis-step by Chevrolet.
As a side note, it's funny to say, but I think that 'mistake' was corrected on the '70 'Cuda's styling (which is basically proof that Chrysler liked to sit back and watch which GM body styles would be popular and then create a close version of their own-- pretty smart, actually, as it saves on market research spending). I rate the '70 'Cuda as a very close second to the '67-'68 Camaro in terms of great muscle car styling. Anyway, ever since I first saw the press release and magazine pics. on the 2010 re-release of the Camaro I knew I had to find a way to have one. When I finally saw the first one 'in the wild' in the Spring of '09 I said to myself, "They knocked it out of the park". Ten years later and I finally have my SS! For me, with the '67-'68-esque styling, the 2010-2013 models in particular are the next best thing to having a first gen model. I really love these cars in every way! |

I too like the 67-68's over the 69 in terms of styling.
Congrats on your 5th Gen purchase, 2SS/1LE impressive!
