Went from M6 to the A10!!

Well, after much thought and shopping I decided to move on from my M6 to the A10.
Why? As many of you know, GM gimped the M6 with the bog etc.
Don't want to debate that issue here but I just got fed up with it.
I didn't lose to much with the swap because of the deals on the 18's.

Drove my M6 about 1500 miles and did the trade and drove my A10 back home.

Initial thoughts of the A10 on my long highway drive.

Totally different car for sure. I know that's weird to say but its true, LOL
The car feels like it has 100Hp more, LOL.
I know the numbers don't say that DUH but the car feels so much faster.

I just hope I don't get bored, LOL

I'll update more about day to day driving later after more seat time.

To the M6 guys sitting on the fence...… HOLY CRAP this car is fast. This A10 is nothing like a normal auto slushbox!!

Yep, not regretting my A10 decision at all!. If you start to get bored, throw it in manual mode and you can play...not quite as much "control" as M version but still fun. Down-shift blips are cool.

Did you try any mods to overcome the "bog" prior to making the decision? Just curious if you found anything that helped / worked?

Thanks & congrats the new beast. and for keeping it in the family...

I love my A10 and specifically wanted it. Love the different driving modes and easter eggs you can do for roll racing or just to have fun on spirited drive on backroads.

Still have a huge smile on my face everytime I start this car.

Congrats on new A10 ride

OP this is my first auto on a real performance car, and except for a '69 GTO all have been a manualin the past. The bog discouraged me on the M6 ZL1 also. To be fair the auto has it too, it's just not as pronounced.

But the A10 is fun and interesting to drive. You are always in the right gear. I do wish for a manual from time to time. But very happy with my choice.

I assume this is common knowledge but I've never seen it discussed and I didn't know about it till after I bought the car. The A10 can also be shifted via the stick. Click it over to manual and bump forward or back for gear changes. Feels more like a manual sans the clutch but its just a way to mix things up. I still haven't gotten used the to paddles but I don't use them much since I am happy letting the trans do what it wants.

A10 is the poor mans PDK and the PDK just set the production lap record at Road America...

I love mine and yes, if you compare a stock ZL1 1LE M6s video to my ZL1 A10 on the same track, same day, I get about 10 more mph in every straight than they do, mostly due to the off apex acceleration from 45-80mph, so in effect it IS like I have another 100 rwhp than they do, even if I have less. The trans is amazing, glad you're enjoying it.

Interesting to hear all the feedback on the A10. I'm still shopping for the right ZL1, but I'm pretty well set on the M6. My last performance car was an M3 with the "floppy paddles" as Richard Clarkson calls them and I was regretting not having a manual the whole time. I have to think that with 650hp the car is still stinkin' fast with a manual, and I'm all about the driving experience, not setting a lap record on the Neurenburg (sp?). To each his own I guess...

I would highly recommend you drive an A10 in a ZL1 before you make the purchase of a M6. I've been a gung-ho manual trans kinda guy for most of my life...but the A10 IS the better choice for this particular car..
