Best tire for zl1?

What's the best street tire to run on the zl1? I need a tire that can hook on a 20 roll.

PS4S for me, I just purchased a set but for a ZLE in 19 inch. I can't say enough about them, much better ride.

If looking for grip R888R. If looking for balance PS4S. If looking for price, stock tire and drop psi to 24-26 psi

Im running the continental extreme contact sports. Better grip when the tires are cold or at normal temps vs the stock goodyears on the zle. That said, they do sacrifice some grip in the canyons on spirited drives, specifically in the corners. Maybe 90% of the grip vs stock when pushing it really hard. All in all, a really great tire that performs well and feels good daily driving while not costing nearly as much as michelins or good years. Kept the stock tires though for track days when i get some spare cash for extra wheels.

There is no "best"... but there are "best at" tires.

Best at road course track: OEM GYSC3
Best at street, wet, cold: PS4S
Best at roll racing on a modded car: ???? probably R888R like CH2MHP says.

Agreed with this too. Based on the way the OP worded his message, I assumed he was asking for a tire for big power doing roll races. (Which could be incorrect).

When rolling into it and running up to 140+ MPH on a possibly unprepped surface, I like the firm feeling of the R888R. They never wiggle, wobble, or "sway" like some drag radials and slicks do. They also hook up hard with big power cars.

But for a replacement in stock size for street use/occasional track/stock power level roll ons, the PS4S is a phenomenal tire for the task.

We've ran some R888rs on some pretty high powered ZL1s. They hook decent and ride real nice even at higher speeds. Only downfall is they are a bit loud.

If you want all out hook grab a set of 17s or 18s and a set of Mickey Thompson Steet ET Rs

I literally just changed to PS4 two days ago. New 1LE. Changed after 77 miles. It's so much better. Someone told me it would be like 30% better. It's like 100% to me. It's so much much more tolerable. I highly recommend it.
