I have 12 SS convertible, my battery was weak to start today, but did crank, however my trunk won’t open with wither the fob or the interior button. I’ve got it on a charger and everything works except can’t open the trunk, which is where the battery is.
Any ideas? |

New battery in key FOB? Maybe that is the issue?

I removed the latch assembly from the back seat and attached velcro strips to the back so I can remove the back seat any time I need to. I had a problem where the trunk would not open many times I would go to open it with the fob and it would just click and not open. I got tired of messing with the rear seat latch since there is no string attached to the release arm and it is a bitch to release it. You could just attach a string or a wire to the release lever of the rear seat but I got so frustrated trying to release it I pulled the latch right out of the seat. It is held in only buy the foam with lag screws so be careful trying to release it or you can do what I did and pull it right out. On our cars the rear seat DOSE fold down but the release mechanism is missing.
