Strength is the big difference. There is actually a noticeable difference in weight, the DSS shafts are surprisingly light. Also, they are less "clunky" compared to stock (especially the carbon fiber one).

The difference comes from a "more positive" feeling. The stock setup with the rubber coupler and the two piece design had a decent bit of flex which gave an almost delayed feeling when hitting the throttle and shifting. Clunky is a good way of putting it. With the new shaft, everything is a lot smoother and more responsive. It really did change the way my car drives. It may not be as obvious in an auto, but an M6...it made a huge change for the positive.
