oil pan and oil starvation

i have an L99 that I am dropping into my 2nd gen. I am swapping out the L99 oil pan so that i can clear my crossmember. I have turned off the DOD portion on HPTuners but will not be removing it just yet. Since i am removing the 8 quart pan and replacing with a 5.5, will i have starvation issues and run my pan dry if i dont delete the DOD eventhough it wont be working since it is deactivated through HPTuners? I will eventually remove DOD and VVT from it, just dont have the cash to do it at the moment.

any tips are greatly appreciated

I don't think you will have any problems with the 5.5 oil pan. I have HV an oil pump in my 78 Camaro and it has never been a problem.
Only a small amount of oil = earlier change due to oil fluid wear.

But if you want to be safe, buy a large-volume Milodon oil pan and it will be O.K.
