HELP! Misfires are upon me!

P0308 code

Cylinder 8 misfire...

2010 Camaro ss, I looked at the plug and it looks good, the wire looks a bit chewed up by where it meets the plug head.

I can't hear any ticking or anything abnormal, any suggestions?

I had a massive mis-fire bank 5, code showed mis fire, ended up being a valve spring broke, luckly didn't drop a valve.

If the wire looks 'chewed up' the internal wire may be frayed and you might be getting a weak spark. If it's frayed and not broken, you may not be getting a short or hear the 'popping' sound associated with a short/arcing. I would start with replacing the wire ... if it's chewed up, it should be replaced regardless.

The Iridium spark plug may have been banged and cracked when the wire was damaged. Invisible without a microscope. They are brittle but withstand the highest pressures and temperatures. New plug and wire.

This^
If the wire is arcing it probably fried the spark plug. Get both replaced.

Just a spark plug or ignition wire that needs replaced

Did you just install headers? I had two that cracked on me after installing headers and they slowly let go over time till the miss was very noticeable. Replaced all of my plugs and ignition wires

Wires and plugs are cheap! I would start there. Nows the time to buy a better aftermarket wire set. I would replace with same type of plugs and set gap same as factory. I used the MSD make your own length kit. I also hear good feed back on the Taylor wires to.

Accel 9000 extreme on all but 7, JBA includes extender for their shortys....I also recommend(if you have access to one) is multi meter the resistance(ohms)of the wires before install(even new)....

Excellent point above about any header install, cracked insulator very common if plugs were left in during r/r...

Regardless any trblshtin should always start with the basics...saves alot of $$$$ and

Just replace the plug and wire. It's cheap and most likely your cause

About 30 years ago, I was trying to identify a miss on my Cutlass. I (wrongly) assumed that a car was just 12 volts, anywhere, any time... so I pulled a plug wire off while the car was idling.

The shock threw me to the ground, and did permanent nerve damage to my arm, from the two fingers that took the brunt of the shock all the way to my elbow... there is still a numbness there.

So, just be careful while trying to figure this one out....

I was trying to strip a copper wire from an outlet in my house with my teeth, just after flipping the breaker. I can still taste the power in my mouth.
