Holley Differences

Can anyone please tell me the difference between a 1972 factory Holley w/ a List number of 6238 and one w/ 6239?

The 6238 should be for an automatic and the 6239 should be for a 4-speed.
Looking at the carbs on eBay...I can't tell the difference, physically.
Is the internals different? I did buy a 6239, it needs rebuilt and I'm not going for numbers matching. Just the fact that it's a factory carb.

I don't have a Holley book to look them up.

I guess my burning question is," How does the Turbo 350 linkage attach to the factory Holley?"
Pictures would be very helpful.

Thanks for the help.

The bores, shooters, springs and jets etc are all the same as far as calibration according to the Holley carb list. Unfortunately I got nothing for you on the kickdown linkage.

Hope this helps.

There is a bracket that will attach to the throttle shaft. It will have a pin on it to attach the TV cable. Either with a retainer clip (E clip) or a push-on type...

You can see it in the last pic in the first post here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-p...le-pumper.html

the pin at the bottom of the bracket is where the TV cable will attach...

The 2nd carb is a regular 750 DP. The shafts are not the same. I am planning on modifing to this shaft if I can't find a solution, but was wanting to keep it OEM. Here's 2 pic's of the stock throttle shaft.
The last pic is of last night. This is not a normal thing here on the Oregon coast. It usually rains, ALOT!

I you look between the carb and HEI, that's the project I'm working on...'74 Nova for the wife. She wants a "Hot Rod" since I have my 5th Gen. So... I building a clone '70 LT-1 hoping to get 350-370hp.

Thanks for the help!
