Dream car gone

Just got into my own dumbs accident, nice.

What happened was.. I was driving at approximately 50-55 MPH on a 50 MPH road. As I approached a green light, I decided to turn right ( I was dropping my passenger home). So as I was turning right at about 45-50 MPH, my turn ended up bigger with TC coming on and off. So as the car was turning I ended up hitting the "centre divider (the thing that divides a two way road. I came back down and went to the very right stopping and powering my engine off.

Called the cops and towing through On Star and had my car taken.

I have no Idea what to do they said they'd keep my car in their towing facility and drop it off in the morning at my dealer.

I have no idea what the insurance process and costs of fixing is nothing at all. I pretty damn shocked from my stupid mistake. I keep asking my self why I didn't get on the brakes and I still don't know why. I don't use my cell phone while driving. I had my passenger with my nothing that will distract me was on. No cars and I was not speeding no answer.

If anyone can help me out with this process and just explain to me whats going to happen.
Am I covered?

I think I understand what happened but what exactly did you hit to rip your wheel and rotor off?

Thank God for pictures because I couldn't make sense of anything you said. Sorry..

If you have insurance, minus the deductible, you should be fine. Call your agent, that's the first step. Doesn't normally matter how or what happened, you should be covered. Your rates will probably go up if you file a claim. See what a body shop says about the repairs. Best thing to do if you can afford it, is pay the repair bill instead of filing a claim. A claim will stay in an insurance data base for 5 years (unless the claim is less than $3000). So anytime you do anything it will flag you and you'll get much higher rates. Insurance companies only want to take your money, not pay it out. So when they have to pay, they make you pay in the long run. Fun stuff and good luck!

I filed a claim as soon as I went back home, they said the adjuster? will call me at 5?
How much do you think it's going to cost? How much is the insurance rate going to go up by?

There is no way to determine costs without inspecting the car to see what is damaged, bent, hidden damage etc.. Plus you should have a policy that shows what your deductibles and coverages are. You weren't getting RH were you? Don't tell the adjuster that.. ha!

If that center divider ripped your wheel off you hit it pretty hard. With what's probably bent underneath, the body damage, wheel, possibly the tire and suspension components I would not be surprised if you are in the $2K-$4K range.. Just a guess. If you use the insurance company, pay the deductible and the rest is on them..

I didn't attempt a turn at 50, I tried slowing down since it was a last minute dumbass decision. I didn't want to slam hard on my brakes. I have no idea why I didn't go on my brakes. I keep asking myself the same question but I don't have an answer for my self

I have a $500 collision deductible and $100 comprehensive.

Whats an RH?

What is RH? I'll let someone else explain..

So worst case scenario, you pay all of the damages and don't worry about insurance claims or best case you pay the $500 and you're good to go. Best case in out of pocket expenses but again, plan on paying higher rates down the road.
