Solo Performance Quantum axle back on L99

I installed SP's new "no drone" axle back on my L99 last week and took it out for a road trip to get some video demonstrating what it sounds like from inside the cabin.

I only narrate a couple of these, letting the Quantum speak for itself. When I do narrate, I mention that the Quantum "drones." I don't think I used the correct term. It's not the see-saw-up-down note that I think denotes true "drone," but just an increase in loudness and felt vibration from the exhaust.

Some may like it, some may not. For myself, I'm undecided. I definitely like the louder idle and acceleration tone over the stock muffler. I'm not so fond of the louder vibration and tone along certain RPM bands. I mention the sound I mean in one of the videos below - judge for yourself.

First up is a low speed cruise up MD 210. I focused the camera on the DIC and Tach so you can relate the sounds to each.

Next is cruising with the radio at level 10. As you can hear, the Quantum will not interfere with normal conversation at a no-load cruise.

Here's an example of the psuedo-drone I spoke of. On video it actually sounds good, but in the cabin it's accompanied by a vibration so the sound is actually felt more than heard. If it went on constantly I would find it annoying.

Once again, at normal cruising speed, the Quantum is very quiet.

Finally, accelerating onto I95, windows open.

So there you have it. One of the first exhaust systems for the A6 Camaro SS from Solo Performance. Price is a very reasonable $449 and there is a group buy going on right now here if you're interested.
