well

All I know is this.. there are honest people..

I bought my 2SS from Anna @ Sparta.. she took it to body shop and I had the stripes painted & clear coated.. .. regardless if it was her or another person,it was done RIGHT . No abuse.

Not everyone -everything is 100 % perfect.. there s always 1 bad apple in the 5lb bag I guess......

I grab my car from the truck driver as soon as it hit the ground. It had 3 miles on it. Nobody from the dealership drove my car. I took it to the service bay to do the battery cable recall, then I took it around to th Get Ready dept and had them wash it off. After that I left with it. I was there maybe an hour or so.

Mine had 11 miles on it; and if whoever took it off the truck and performed the make ready drove it like I do, then they had some fun zipping down to County Line Road and back. It arrived at about 2am to the dealership, it went out on the lot at 2pm and I arrived at the dealership at 4pm.

I was the first person to arrive out of the half dozen or more folks who where called by their sales agent, so I know it wasn't test driven by anyone who was looking to buy it.

Thank you for the warning about checking the tread and odometer. I've yet to burn out on those wheels and while it is tempting (did it with my 67SS all the time), it's not going to happen with this one.

I can add, I was waiting for my Camaro during its first oil change and sitting in a chair in the tech drive at Preston Hood Chevrolet in Fort Walton Beach. An older gentleman brought his 2005 SSR in for an oil changes as well, he made the mistake and dropped it off and left; probably figures he can trust the dealership. Well you can't. Two of the service writers got in it and tore out down the street, after all custom exhaust and supercharger was installed to the LS1 it came with from the factory. Never leave a perfomance car anywhere if you can help it.

Friend of mine worked at a BMW dealer down in FL. One day he called me telling me he was going to pick me up and to be ready outside. He came driving through with a brand new M3 convertible.

Took off down a country road at 100+ mph, screeching tires and all. Pretty darn fast car! I'm sure it was nice and broken in by the time someone shelled out the $$$ for it.

I took my Porsche 911 in for an air recharge and the tech took it for a test ride. Comes back and tells me he could get another 20% power out of it if he could tighten the throttle cable. I won't be taking it to him anymore!

There is no excuse for a dealers tech to abuse a customer's car. That should be immediate termination IMO. I am sure it goes on more than we know.

And in a perfect world... everyone would own an SS! I believe someone spoke of the 'rotten apple' earlier. It can go deeper than just one apple, sometimes it diseases the whole tree... if you know what i mean.
