Ford strikes back

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/12/17/2...power-5-0l-v8/

Looks like Ford finally stopped bringing a knife to a gun fight. Wonder how it will compare to our favorite little alien robot?

You must have drove the thing like a mad man and plus the 05-10 run on 87 octane while every other sports car is taking 93. It will be interesting to see if they make the 412 on 87 as well.

A little irony for the Chicken Little's of a few years ago...
That is an interesting observation. Suddenly, supercars are attainable. Not very long ago, a 400-horsepower muscle car was a dream for the aftermarket; a performance number restricted to 6-figure, mid-engined sports cars. Today, the right parts could put some Italian-speaking racers in your rearview mirror. It is good to witness the rise of the affordable sports car.

Without fierce competition and a market that sells, we might not have a Camaro at all.

Driving my car home from Memphis last week, it pulled down 27mpg on I-40 @70mph in 6th gear. I have no doubt the lighter 2011 GT will do as well or better with the six-speed.

You must have been on the gas a lot in your 2005 for it to get that poor mileage. I also has a 2005 GT, automatic at that, and it would get about 25-26mpg on the highway and 17-18 in the city.

It will be faster than the Camaro stock for stock, that is for sure. I just wish they would update the design or make it look close to the GT500KR for the GT.
