I'm 41 and have been working since I was 15. Hard work..no matter what career you choose. I've worked on the farms (growing up), in a soybean elevator (only you farmers will get that)...JC Penny as a sales guy, technology Project Manager, technology consulting, manager of consulting and now technology software services sales for a large "3 letter" s/w and services company. But again..I work just as hard today..as I did when I was throwing a sledgehammer on the farm. That's the key...

I started off wanting to be a mechanic, Took automotive all through high school and landed a job in a chrysler dealership (yuck). After working on cars all day I didn't want to work on my own so I stopped that.
I then would work construction with my one uncle and jobs are just too spotty for me. Then I started working with my other uncle who does HVACR and the job was great except when i slipped a disk in my back for lugging a commercial compressor up the side of a building with a rope (dont do that lol) I always found computers interesting to me so thats how I got into the IT field. To be honest its a good gig. I'm actually majoring in Computer forensics which is different then IT work. Pretty much I'm being taught to hack a computer and bring up files you thought you deleted lol. As for IT itself. It's amazing the lack of knowledge most people have for computers. The other day I had to explain to a few people the proper way to shut down a computer (They thought u just hold down the power button on the tower). The stuff i do is very simple. I'm working right now. cant you tell lol |

What career you chose doesn't make any difference in whether you will be able to buy a Camaro one day. The desire alone will enable you to save and buy it one day.
Pick find something that you love to do and pursue that. NEVER take a job just for the money. |

I bought the car at the ripe age of 26 (I'm now 27). I was working for only a few months before that as a Software Developer, and before that, about 6 years of school + internships getting my Bachelor's and Master's in Computer Engineering.
This ain't for the money. I'm a tech geek/gizmo guy at heart. |

I'm 20 years old, I bought my camaro... The answer as to how? Education, hardwork, and having your finger in many different cookie jars. If you bet all of your chips on 1 path, your leaving a lot of potential untapped. Good luck, I have had my fully bolted SS for over a year and i still get a HUGE smile on my face when I fire here up knowing that's what hard work can do. Stay true to yourself.

I'm 25 and have been in the US Air Force for 6 years. I was stationed in Asia and Europe for the first 4 years of my career, and saved a hefty amount for my Camaro down payment. Now, half my deployment cash is saved, and the other half is spent on the never ending mods. I love my job and my Camaro!

Choose something where you do not even consider it work, more like a hobby because you love it so much.
Also, you can choose to do something that allows you to put a 1k down payment on the car or one where you can put a 30K down payment. I chose the latter. I am 23 - combat arms officer in the US Army. |
