And the G8 ST, IMHO. The wagon would have been better.

I guess you haven't seen the Ford Flex yet?

(Looks like a Scion XB mated with a 1988 Volvo station wagon and had a Flex!)

So, my impression of the award was that only new models in any given year were eligible to compete so how is it that one year later, Toyota wins the 2008 award?

Even given that they could have changed the rules to allow any model to compete in the current year, how is it that the Silverado was the best one year and not the next considering that no significant changes were made to either truck in the intervening year?

I smell a rat!
The Silverado was released as a 2007 model. The turdra, on the other hand, was released in 2007 as a 2008 model. You see, crapyota knew that they wouldn't win any Truck of the Year awards with the Silverado competing, so they made up some stupid excuse about having to tweak something and that the tundra would have to be a 2008 model instead.
Therefore, the tundra was allowed to compete as a 2008 model, and since there weren't any new truck introductions for 2008, that piece of crap won Motortrend Truck of the Year.

EDIT: And yeah, I saw this was just answered. But whatever, I love insulting that poor excuse of a truck.

yes. I will know on Mondy what the new incentives will be with the Employee Pricing. If you lose 0%, you might still be better off with the current offers.

Oh yes.
I once saw a thread on a tundra owner's forum that was full of pictures of their crappy "trucks" parked next to other trucks and the members gushing over how "awesome" their "trucks" were compared to the others.
Just reaffirms my belief that the tundra is nothing more than a poser truck. People who really need trucks buy Chevy, GMC, Ford, and Dodge. People who want a truck just so they can look "tough" buy from toyota, honda, or nissan.
