TWIN TURBO 10 SPEED Camaro LT1

Why hasn’t anybody used turbos on the lt1 camaro??

Let alone the only person I know with a boosted lt1 is the YouTuber Toby vega

10R80 mustangs I’ve seen centrifugal, whipples, 2650s and turbos and I have yet to see my Camaro family do anything in the like.

The 10L80 has already proved superior to the 10r80 so what’s stopping us?

In a year if no one has done it then I will lol.

A guy in our San Diego Camaro Club has an LT1 with a Whipple 3.0 on it...

I have seen a few LT1s with twin turbos in the Elite Performance Shop in Fredericksburg, VA, so nothing new here. Definitely a sweet setup for sure. Most are back in the shop for transmission work, or more add-ons.

They have. Both Huron Speed and Hellion offer twin turbo kits for the Gen6 Camaro, and there are guys running them. Just not as common as a supercharger since the turbo install is undoubtedly more time consuming.

Plenty of people have put Turbos on this platform. This forum has died so if all you do is look around here you won't see what is going on out there in the real world.

The top 2 fastest 6th gens are using turbos and a 400 trans. The fastest factory trans A10 cars still have a PD supercharger.

Imo Turbos are not as popular on this platform because:

Superchargers are easier to install, generally more reliable, and make plenty of power. Turbos will always make more power per psi of boost but does it really matter when a 2650 or 3.0 positive displacement unit will make instant boost and easily break 1000whp if you chose to take it that far?

I like all setups so no bias here. Put turbos on your car if that is what you want to do. Let us know how it turns out!

I believe I’m the most active turbo car on the forum. I bought the car August of ‘22 built and installed a twin turbo kit over the winter, immediately hurt the stock engine and built an engine. I’ve been learning the gen v ecu and tuning myself. I would be faster by now if I had someone else tune it but I have enjoyed the journey and take pride in the accomplishments. Here is a YouTube video of mine along with others of the Camaro and my F150 if you click on the channel.

I have attempted to read everything on the Hellion Kit and the best documentation I know of for that kit is the one Jannetty Racing installed and tuned. I believe Ted upgraded the fuel system as well. There seems to be a large contingent that insists there are heat related issues. I am not dismissing that but if I recall correctly, Jannetty insisted that if the fuel system is properly tuned and configured, there are no inordinate head issues. Check the links below:

I was going to link to these thanks for that.

Yes tuning has a huge effect on EGT so they can be done reliably.

OP, Any questions give me a call 203-753-7223
