iPod starting on first song

Hello,

I use the built in ipod integration. More often than not, when I turn my car on, the iPod will reset and start on the first song. Sometimes it resumes playing the playlist, but it usually doesn't. Is there a way to make it always resume? I read some of the huge PDIM discussion, and checked my vehicle. I have software version CE, which I believe is the newest version? Any help/insight is greatly appreciated. thank you

first off- welcome to Camaro5 what part of FL are ya from?

and i think it has someone more to do with the ipod than the camaro, cuz mine does the same thing. i've noticed it'll usually start with the first song alphabetically if i havn't used my ipod/iphone in a while (i think it forgets what music u were playing)

Thanks, I'm in Tampa/St Pete.

Yeah that's what mine does, starts on the first song alphabetically. I'm starting to hate that song ha. Its the newest gen of iPod too. Does anyone know of a fix for this? It will play that song even if the car has only been off long enough to pump gas.

Mine always starts where it was when I shut off the car. Check the settings in your IPod. I think there is something in there about where it starts.

Mine does the same thing. I've checked my iPod (60GB Video Classic) to see if it's something you can change, and there's nothing there. So I start the car and "A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth starts up. Cool song, but it's getting old now! If there isn't a way to make this go away, I'll just have to pull something new down in iTunes that will line up ahead of it alphabetically so I can hear something different!

One possibility has to do with when you take out the iPod. If you are playing a list of tracks and remove the iPod before shutting off the car, some head units may need you to select the playlist and start again.

Another possibility has to do with when you put in the iPod. If you put it in before starting the car, it should begin from the same point it was last playing.

A third possible reason for your iPod reason is that you synced your iPod between removing it and plugging it into the car again. If anything changed in iTunes during that sync, it could affect your playlists.

These are not all of the reasons you might notice this problem, but these are ones that do affect a variety of iPod-ready head units.

I checked all the settings on the iPod, read the manual, and even called Apple. Still no solution. For anyone who has it working properly, which iPod do you have, and are there any settings you can think of that are helping out? Let's figure this one out. My iPod is a 5th gen nano, latest firmware/iTunes. Camaro has the CE software. I have noticed that it starts at the first song more frequently when the 'hold' is not in the 'on' position on the iPod. But even with it on hold, I would say it starts over about 60% of the time.

I have a 5th gen nano. Sometimes mine resumes where I left off and sometimes it starts over with the first song like yours. I have not been able to figure out why.
