questions on idle/surging and bog between shifts on new supercharger install
Hi, I'm new to the world of superchargers. I've got a kraftwerks supercharger installed on my 12ss. Car is completely stock other then that. BTW, kit was professionally installed by them actually, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm just trying to get it dialed in now
I'm getting a slight fluctuation at idle of about 50-75 rpms. Additionally, that cold "surge" that most experience on m6 camaros on first startup is 10x worse, it'll buck and surge in any gear until completely warm. Finally, last question, it falls flat on a fast shift between gears under heavy throttle. If I hit it hard, not necessarily full throttle, and quickly shift into the next gear, it'll hesitate before going again. I cannot shift fast without it bogging unless I leave my foot on the gas. Finally it had a p0442 (small thermactor leak) code before we started. I don't "believe" this would result in a vacuum leak, but even if it did, it seems it would be a very small one. I'm just running the base tune. So does this sound like a tuning issue? I'm completely new to this, and before putting another $650 on a custom tune, I just want to make sure I have all my bases covered. Thanks

What did you use to tune the car with? You need to data log it. If they... Professionally installed it....have them professionally tune it

You need to tune...
Small vacuume or exhaust leaks upstream of CATS will have adverse affects on performance this will be identified during logs.

Yea man get that thing on a dyno and get it tuned to work out those kinks! If you were tuned by a handheld Ehhhh.. I would still want it on a dyno and tuned by a reputable tuner. And look for boost leaks I don't know if you can do a boost leak on a Supercharged system only seen it done with turbo.

I'm sure a dyno tune would help.

yes low speed tune needs to be addressed, mine did the same thing after just a cam, a competent tuner can fix easily.

thanks all..didn't see these replies until now.
The kit came with the "base" tune only, so it was expected and informed that a professional dyno tune is highly suggested I just want to make sure that there is nothing mechanical before I go in for my tune. Guess it's time to drop the rear diff so I can get to that $20 vent valve for the thermactor system. UGH. Then tune time

It doesnt need a dyno tune...but it does need tuned properly. That could be achieved on road or dyno.
