I agree. If you moved the brake LED's more to the rear of the housing, does it reflect more running light on the outer edge?

No it stops i am tiring a defuser around the LED's but i don't think it helped.
Here is two pics one all the way in and the next one is out to the step and it looks a lot better.

It would ruin the housing if it doesn't work, but someone mentioned scuffing the outer edge to dull the reflection. Or possibly painting it to a gradual fade.

...Maybe even black out the inner cup to reduce the reflection.

I think it's already looking better than exposed LED's like the others... Good luck

So my new idea is to go and make a new part that has a 2 side all LED hosing, So that we send the light in the hosing back to give it the Eclipse look for the running lights, The other side will have the same or more LED's for the brake Side, And last i will fix the OEM hosing so there is no step in it that will let the light fill the hosing to look right.

I hope to start Midday i have to make a new part and get some more parts put i think by Friday i will have it all done.

I don't quite follow what you're saying. you're saying have the half moon piece have leds on both sides of the lens? running lights have all the ones facing the cars front light up so you can't see them even though they're all on, and stepping on the brakes lights up the ones facing rearward (which you can see) as well?

This might be a stupid question but can't we just contact someone at GM and ask them how they did it? Someone who comes here must know someone who knows someone who can give us info on how it’s done.

Tried contacting GM design team on the Camaro and got a nice email back "We do not promote modding your car. It may due harm and void your warranty". I just wanted a direction to go in but, yeah fail. We are going to have to continue relying on inside information.

I've been following this thread for a while and I've read a lot of good suggestions. Here is one combining some of them. What if somebody try putting the AAC afterburner light kit inside the clear light diffuser and tint the inner (oval part) of the light diffuser . I was looking at AAC's afterburner kit thread and they install them on the outside part of the light diffuser.

I understand why they can't help... Especially with brake and running lights, DOT is all up in their face about spec's we don't have to deal with. The aftermarket light does need to be bright enough though, without being too bright.

Ok I did an analysis of the afterburner effect picture and I think I know how they did it. Anyone who can make/modify taillights like to team up?
