Adding a sub
Hello all, I just recently got my Camaro, and opted to not order the Boston system because I prefer to create my own systems. I'm not shy about playing with wiring or anything, but I am shy about taking the head unit out of this bad boy, which I imagine there has to be a thread for. I can't visually even picture an easy way for it to come out, unlike my Cobalt, which was super easy... I also remember seeing a while back a thread in which a vendor had created amp install kits for Camaros with the stock system and the Boston system, and I have an amp already so all I need is the kit. If anyone could help me with finding these threads I'd be very appreciative. Also, has anyone put one of these in their car yet? I know I'll have to build a custom box, just curious about the sound, the 6-speaker system actually has a decent amount of bass, just not enough

Cool, do you plan to take any pics? Pictures of removing the head unit are mainly what I need, I've go no idea how to take that out and Mitchell OnDemand doesn't have the service manual for the car yet at school, so I can't just look there like I do for everything else.

i have two kicker comp tens with a two hundred watt amp in my camaro. i also have the stock speakers and head unit and it sounds really good. it is your call if you want to remove it but i would be against taking that head unit out.

I don't intend on removing the HU for good, just in order to wire it, unless of course I don't need to. did you wire without removing it?
