This is why I'll miss my Cobalt LS. It isn't really fun, exciting, or sexy, but it gets good mileage, costs next to nothing to insure, and oil changes are $30 a pop or so.

35$ for my truck. Once the warranty is out I'll be changing it myself and don't expect to pay anywhere close to that. U got to know where to take it if u do take it. Never seen an oil change cost 80$. Guess I live in a cheap state.

This is exactly how I feel about it. Wastes a lot of money on labor taking the car places.

Unfortunately I live in an apartment complex with a "no wrenching in the parking area" policy, so I have to have my oil changed for me.

not to mention a lot of places dont let the oil drain long enough so you end up with some residual old oil in the system. not that it would do much if any damage, but when I do my oil, I let the car sit for around an hour letting it drain to get as much of the old stuff out as I can.

I live in a similar setup. I've got an HOA that says only emergency maintenance. but, I drive down the street to the Parks auto parts or to a friends house and change it there.

I believe 1LE cars had an oil cooler, as well I believe some years of the SS had it too.

I have a 1996 Z28 and I don't have an oil cooler. Well, at least before I put my own on.
