They never mentioned them but those shouldn't have any impact on the transmission anyway. Unless they'd tried to argue the extra power was too much for it, though I'd have thought that was really stretching it.

I'm sure Jerry can hook you up with a nice upgrade...how about jumping right over the SS and going to a ZL1?
now that would be sweet! though I'd be more than happy with the SS

Not yet Mike, I was hoping to make the Feb club meeting and get it then. If not then I'll pay my $3 and get it mailed - or just a thought.......Chevron internal mail

Which wire?

Which wire did you tap into for ambient light?

LEDs powered from the Dome lights (normal light intensity) -(this way for car shows and stuff I can switch the dome light into the Constant on position and have the footwells on also):

LEDs powered from the Ambient Lights and using the ABL dimmer to lower the intensity to the minimum (this way I can drive with the footwell lights on and not have to have the dome light on - I can also change the intensity so it isn't too much of a distraction when driving in the dark)

I used the yellow wire on the harness that connects to the gauge pack.

Peel back some of the black sheaving on the harness at the end that plugs into the gauge pack, this will reveal the gauge pack wires, find the yellow one and gently work it so you have enough showing so you can t-tap into it. Hope this helps.

Kind of having second thoughts about trading up to the SS. Still owe more on the car than it is currently worth anyway so I'll be holding on to her for another year at least, but I am kind of attached to her anyway and may just get her paid off first...

In the meantime I have a few mods added to my list for the near future:

Stage 3 ported Intake Manifold
25mm Manifold Insulator
Plenum Spacer
Ported Throttle body

The more mods you add the harder it gets to let go and trade up...

Looking good...

Absolutely nothing wrong with hanging on to that car. As long as your transmission is holding up, the V6 is awesome! (I miss mine every so often - especially when it passed me once going the other way on 288 - ).

I ordered a used stock manifold today with only 10 miles on it and as soon as it comes in I'll be sending it to Jay of MACE for porting !

Also going to get the 25mm insulator and the plenum spacer - can't wait to feel the results.

I may have to mod my Vararam but to be honest it was one of the first ones produced and it has always had a tendency to point a little upwards due to the radiator, I suspect with the insulator installed and sitting a bit higher it may solve the problem and sit better on the radiator; hopefully I won't have to do any modding at all......

June 2012 - Spare Stock Intake Manifold

Ok so took delivery of my spare intake manifold - cost me $160 from Linders auto parts and it only has 10 miles on it (it's from a 2009 Cadilac CTS which also has the LLT engine).

I'll be shipping it for porting tomorrow and can't wait to get it back so I can get it installed together with the 25mm Manifold insulator and the plenum spacer.

Anyone know a local machine polisher or a powder coater ? I haven't decided which of the two to do yet but want to give the manifold a better look.
