Maybe it has gone up since the last ticket I got for no plate up front on my truck. Someone stole it when I was in Home Depot and then I got a ticket for it. $75 for someone stealing my tag. That sucks.

Consider this boys.

Not having a front plate on your car can be an "out" for a policeman to give you a brake if you get caught doing something bad like speeding or any form of spirited driving.

Don't ask me how I know hahaha.

NO FRONT PLATE FOR ME in any car....... EVER.

It’s also probable cause to be pulled over at any time. Not that I have one but, I realize that I’m giving them an excuse to pull me over.

you are correct. but if you're not being obnoxious in front of a policeman you'll probably be fine. I realize there are "by the book" cops out there but most of them are good.

I feel like the look of the car lends itself to getting away without a front plate.

Since it's a state law in Texas that in different areas gets a different level of attention, I don't give them any additional reason to stop me.

Each to their own, but for me, I try to avoid the extra attention if at all possible...and our State Troopers really enforce it on the highways as much as possible. Previous experiences have proven that for me. The tough part is that they also keep a record of how many times that they have had to "warn" you...
I have the Sto-N-Go and it works fine for me thus far.

I'm just glad that they don't enforce the minimum "height" requirement for the plate as I would fail there; thank goodness that they really focus on visibility.

I'm glad that they actually have front plate requirements in this State as it helped capture a hit and run where I got rear-ended and disabled my car. If it hadn't been for the scumbag's front license plate falling off, he would have gotten away as there were no witnesses around. Would have been hard otherwise to prove for me as paint flakes would not have been enough, lol. Scumbag had totaled my car and got stuck with much more than that for running.

Never had one on any of my Camaros in Texas and never had a problem.

The crazy locations I see these mounted look way worse than just putting them on where the factory intended. And laying the flying razor blade on the dash is even worse.

I guess I'm not as lucky as you have been or others that claim no issue in Texas...in Katy alone, I've been stopped twice; once for my 16Z06 & once for this ZL1...

The front license plate debate will never end on any forum, haha, again, each to their own...

$150 down the drain. I guess its back to the drawing board. Tickets would have been cheaper.

I am thinking of zip ties for a long trip, but do other states ticket you for no front plate NJ?

I hate it but I bought one that screws into the tow hook spot. My luck if i get pulled over, it is just gonna be an additional ticket and not a "I'll ticket you for this instead of that" ticket. Saw an RS today with out a front plate, I felt so ashamed by defacing my beauty.

The thing about a ticket, it is not a moving violation.

I had that setup on my '16 SS. It was okay but like you grew to not like it. I did worry about needing a tow at the strip and wondered if they would wait for me to change it out to the hook and kept a giant allen wrench in glove box.

I even drilled a hole in the plate for a quicker removal. A NJ State trooper looked it over at the Atco tech inspection and asked me why I drilled the hole in the plate. He laughed and walked away. And NJ is very specific about LP placement.

$100 in NJ so on goes the stock plate holder for now. Ugh. :( I think though unless I decide to take my ZL1 to Millville I won't worry about cooling. For drag racing this car with the tiny SC nothing replaces leaving it sit for an hour. Even with the 11 (?) coolers no hot lapping the ZL1. No danger at all of over heating even with the middle of the grill lp holder. At least it doesn't look worse than the StoNShow.
