Sell my 2013 ZL1 for 1969 Camaro Pace Car?
Ok, we've all talked about moving on to our next car, came across a 69 white Camaro pace car (restored) w / manual trans and no A/C in my area for sale. Wanted to get your opinions, thanks for the response !

Run the vin number and make sure it's a true pace car. Too many clones out there. Some were 350's but the desirable ones were the 396's.

..no. I coulda bought a 69 Z/28 for less than a ZL1, but because I did all that and bought the t-shirt many moons ago I didn't want the fuss and muss of wrenching on a relic anymore. Just my take on it.

I sold a 69 SS before I bought my ZL1 and did not have to but just thought I did not need it anymore. I will not lie to you,I wish I had it back. That being said I would not sell my ZL car to buy another 69 camaro. I just hope all of the car companies keep building these high performance cars like the ones you can buy now and the prices on all of the old iron will come down to where they are not so expensive. I would not pay the prices they are asking for those old cars anyway and I really believe you will see in the next few years they will get cheaper to buy so really think that thru before you jump off and pay a bunch for one.

A truly restored classic muscle car trumps new muscle every time in my book. Love my daily driver SS but wouldn't trade my '68 for nothin'.

Wouldn't sell my new one for it, but I will own a 69RS in the future. Both GREAT cars but I consider my new one a car I can drive like I stole it. I would be afraid to hurt a rare care.

The ZL1 is a car you should not regret owning and driving. The rebuilt '69 is, just like Oldscool says.... a "project"...

That's so true....new muscle doesn't require too many repairs ! ...I remember a guy telling me "they don't make them like they used to" the other guy says "thank god"

If you like the Pace Car get it. I'd drive it first, after all it's an old car - new cars really spoil you!

Nope.
Had a '69 SS in college and it was great, simple to repair and you will be doing that.... BUT the brakes, steering, suspension, interior, etc., etc., etc. does not compare to any 5th gen. model AND no A/C, yikes - you would die in TX!! I guess if you really want the 1st gen DNA go for it. |
