CARB legal CAI for every model of Camaro aside for the SS?

Well, looks like somehow K&N has gotten CARB approval for their V6 and ZL1 intakes, not for the SS??

Of course z/28 comes with one, so now it would appear only us SS folks can't get a CARB approved intake. Anyone have any idea why, and if that might change (vendors chime in please!)?

I understood that an obstacle to CARB approval was having to do separate testing for every model year and the cost of that. Do you know what year or years K&N has CARB approval for? It would seem like the number of potential SS buyers would make that an attractive market.

The gm z28 piece, most our cars aren't legal anymore and the carb sticker on a plastic tube is the least of it

Most smog shops do not even check for a CARB number on a cold air intake. You'll be fine... Just call and ask. Or keep the stock one if you're that worried about it, not like it takes so long to change it.

I have also heard that you can buy a CARB sticker.

lol that wouldn't help you to pass smog anyways, since the smog tech is required to input the EO number. if they dont and the car has been documented with it before, then the state knows they're cheating (or not good at their jobs) and costs them their star status or worse

the actual number has to match the actual part to the specific vehicle year, engine, EFN, etc.

It's legal on the Z28 only since it's considered a stock component. On any other Camaro it's considered aftermarket and is not CARB certified

I installed a K&N intake on my 2011 SS a few days ago. I'm not worried about it not being CARB approved. Swapping the stock intake back in should only take a couple minutes just before I need smog test.

No, it's not. Which is why no Chevy dealership in California wanted to sell me one. I had to order mine from JEGS.com, shipped with a sticker on the box that read " Off road only, not legal in California roads". It's OEM, most smog places won't even notice. Plus, if it needs to be swapped out, it's a 5 min job!
