I don't look back on my decision and do not care about the new SS generation. This car will be a classical one day and is a keeper.
I definitely think it will be a classic. It will be what people remember and look for. I do however hope the new 8speed auto holds up, I have it in my 2015 Silverado.

No - liked it a LOT. Just not more than the gen5 ZL1. I have no doubt it's a huge improvement over the gen5 SS on many levels.

The true muscle car feeling is why I went from a 2012 CTS-V to the ZL1. I love it. You won't be disappointed.

As said above about a dozen times you made the right decision. Myself I would rather have a Z than a SS any day. You will love the Z the more you drive it and I will say it puts a grin on my face every time I mash the go pedal! Enjoy your new ride and let us know how the trip home was.

It was really great to hear your description of the ZL. I will wager that a lot of us bought the ZL1 for much of the same reasons that you outlined. I bought the ZL not only for its power and prowess, but I bought it for its raw swagger, the unmistakable sound of its exhaust, and its beautiful profile with my selected color and options. Its a car that most will not mistake it for a luxury or touring car. Its a badass, brawny road warrior that I intend to keep for a very, very long time.

Very nice, I would love to read another write up after you have a chance to run it through it's paces.

2012 is where it's at! Congratulations on your purchase. I didn't think the ZL1 had that raw feeling until I had it worked over. Coming from a 4th Gen, where refinement is pretty much none existent.

I will definitely fill you in on the ride home. Its a 3 hour drive to go pick it up, and by my math about an hour and forty-five minutes home.

It looks like a giant middle finger driving down the road begging people to say something! Has to be the most violent front end I've ever seen on a car. I can hear my wife screaming already, "Youre going to kill us!" I won't be sleeping tonight, but I will be dreaming about the ride home.
