GM did actually respond to this via Facebook and basically gave a "Well wouldn't you like to know?" response.

I may be in the minority, but I think that looks awesome. I'm not entirely sold on the new GT-R style window, but the rest of it is fine with me. I bet it looks awesome in performance white.
This is still on track to get the 5.5, correct? |

The 5.5 is a race engine. Expected displacements for the gen V are 5.3L and 6.2L

I actually have no complaints of the car. Corvette purists may complain about the lack of round taillights and the extension of the side windows but I see these details as a welcome evolution change for the Corvette. The Corvette can't keep the exact look forever. Today's Corvette is essentially a revised version of the 1984 Corvette. The same basic profile has remained the same since 1984.
Bottom line, this is an update to appeal to all age groups while still saying "Corvette" when you see it.

The car eventually does have to change...if this is indeed the C7, considering the comments made by folks on what is an evolutionary design, the massive overhaul rumored for the C8 is going to make a lot of people freak out.

I thought I read somewhere a while back that the C7 was suppose to have some sort of visual linkage to memebers of the current Ferrari line-up? The car represented in these renderings looks very 599 like as far as the front end design goes. Compared to a lot of the renderings that have been in view online for the C7 this looks by far the most realistic, and I welcome such a proposal. Here's to hoping we'll see something along these lines. There's no way a base Vette should have less visual appeal than a Camaro SS. It goes without saying the C7 will not be that car.
