i would say this is what GM wants for the redesign and the z28 - hype

I was close to buying a Mustang 5.0 with brembos and 3.73 rear end last summer but held off thinking that GM might do something big that i would want. Well they did. Problem is now that big was beyond what i was willing to spend.

So now i may be back to the Mustang v SS 1LE again.

I really thought GM had a market in the 40-50k range but it seems like they wanted another top dollar Camaro.

If some of you would look outside of the GM brand and see the bigger picture GM isn't just making this Camaro to be the 'best camaro' they're making it to be the best damn track car you can buy while retaining some normal every-day driving experience.

I mean really look at the potential in this car. It's three seconds faster than the ZL1 which turned a 7:41 around the ring. Imagine what those brakes alone will shave off that time in the corners of the ring. Imagine if the three seconds translates to tracks like the VIR where the Z/28 would be close to touching the Ferrari 458 Italia.

If I read the wiki right, the ZL1 turned the ring just about as fast as the ZR1. So the Z/28 will be out-lapping a ZR1 possibly?

This isn't about price. This is about capability, and the Z/28 will be mighty capable in the twisties.

Nurburgring
ZR1 - 7.19.63
Z06 - 7.22.68
ZL1 - 7.41.27

The Z/28 wont touch the Z07 or the ZR1 lap times at the ring

"A Nickle."
"Everything can't be a Nickle."
"Nope, we agree, a Nickle."

Why Brown Motors went bankrupt.

Uhh? I said nothing about the Corvette i don't think. However, I did mention the LFA and 458.

458 Italia: 7:32.92 or 7:38.00

Lexus LFA: 7:38.00 or 7:38.85

No doubt the Z/28 has a chance at approaching those two.

I mentioned the 458 Italia and LFA due to the VIR Lightning Lap Times:
4.1 Miles
1. 458 Italia : 2:49.9 ($333,000)
2. Lexus LFA : 2:55.1 ($380,000)
3. Camaro ZL1 : 2:57.5 ($59,000)

So, For $300,000 cheaper, you can out track a Lexus LFA in a Z/28. Listening to what I'm saying now?

If the Z/28 shed 3 seconds off Milford's 2.9mi (could be wrong about the length) road coarse.... Just saying.

Apparently, a 1LE out-tracks a BOSS and gives fits/exceeds the BOSS LS...let alone a Track Pack GT of similar pricing to the 1LE.

Wanna spend $40-ish, and wanna have the quickest way around VIR? 1LE.

Wanna spend under-$50 for the same car with a SEMA Show attached? Good Luck with that...

BTW, the "true believers", here, would like to think they had some input into the realization of the Z/28. Most of us are older folk, with decent discretionary income. Not saddled with student loans 'n such. Empty nesters...and, therefore sometimes, empty garagers...

The "true Beliebers"? The Z/28 is NOT Justin time...

Before the "Old Timers" disease sets in, we'd like to maintain some of our dillusional thinking: The older I get, the faster I was...and...an LS7'd Gen-5 Camaro WILL arrive, just you wait 'n see!

the ZR1 has been around the ring a couple times, depending on the driver, the ZL1 did match a time set by the ZR1 based on information on wiki.

Owned a '68 in '69. Any more questions? "So here's my number. Call me, maybe?!"

[You knew The Biebs helped Carly Rae Jepsen launch her career, eh?]

BTW, the Belieber reference was for those "of an age", baby-baby, who protest the Z/28's pricing...while anxiously awaiting a diecast version to arrive, in lieu of having a valid driver's license and/or the wherewithal regardless of final pricing...which BTW is still sometime off into the future...

As mentioned earlier, if you're truly considering a $40ish expenditure, and want the most VIR-friendly NEW 4-seater at that price, 1LE is the one for thee... In fact, for '14, it's really your ONLY choice. Bye-Bye BOSS.
