Drove a 2017 1le today, wasn't that impressed (for the $$ vs. my 15 1le)

I just got back from driving a summit with SS 1le. Now I have a 2015 fully loaded 1le. Only mod is a z28 cai. I like the new 1le. But I don't love it. It feels more underpowered Than my 15. They offered me 24 for my car and wanted 45 for the new one. Mine only has 14k miles on it. No way I could justify 19k for that minor of an upgrade. Only thing I really loved was the exhaust modes, otherwise felt just like my car!

If you paid for a loaded 15, you paid near the same price as they were asking for this one.

Exactly, I went from a 15 1LE to a 16 2ss, night and day difference. A 2 mile test drive on straight roads wont excersize the cars purpose.

I have yet to drive a 17 1LE, but given the differences in the 15/16 platform, I am not sure how you think this car is underpowered, and just like a gen 5, on the road course it equated to an extra 27mph on the straight and nearly 5 seconds a lap, and thats not even the 1LE.

So it has more power and weighs less, yet it feels "more underpowered". Makes sense.

Which Track did you take it out on? Becuase it feels like a SS until you use it like it was designed for.

Others have said the power is not noticeable....that justshows you how well designed this new Gen6 is.

First, 24k is the best you will get at the dealer. Every year your car will go much more down in value.

A test drive can not show you the capability of this new 1LE every single aspect is far better.

TOO name a few.

6 Piston brembo 2 piece rotors
Magnetic Ride
E-Diff
Better suspension tunning
Bigger rear tires
Faster newer motor

So you determined this on a short test drive where you couldn't push the car anywhere near it's limits? It's a known fact that on track there is a pretty big difference between the two cars...

Sounds to me like you are just trying to justify not purchasing one and keeping the slower car.

Its a big jump in price and payments and I'm with you, for street driving its hard to justify the increased price tag. But... If you take it to the track there is a big difference in performance, but then its up to you whether its worth it for your situation. I have a 2016 2SS and I feel the same way about the price difference between my trade in value and a new 1LE. To me its not worth it to pay $10,000 more for a 1LE at this point. Just upgrade your current car to make it faster at the track. They look similar from the outside.

Seat of the pants dyno may need to be calibrated. It does suck how fast these cars depreciate.
