Finally tuned my 1LS

Using HPTuners and working with Overkill Will, we've been doing some tuning on my 1LS. Probably been about a month now, but I wanted to wait before creating a thread.

There's been a lot of logging and sending data back and forth, trying new tunes and working through things. Still seems to have some KR that we are working out, but damn this thing has woken up.

This is probably what the Vitesse TC people keep talking about, but we made adjustments to the throttle through the tunes, and it's feeling really nice.

Overall, been very happy working with Will on yet another car. Highly recommend him in the W-body world, and now I definitely recommend him for anyone else with the LFX.

Indeed Will is by far the best remote tuner out there

Yeah, he's been great to work with. Still just chasing down some bad KR at WOT. About to send some more logs over to see what can be done

Will is by far the best we have seen to date.

What is most likely causing the KR is the oil mist entering. The Elite E2 and E2-X dual valve with cleanside is really one of the only proper ways to stop this as most catchcans only trap a small amount of what passes through them (15-30% max for most), and as the LLT has 11.3:1 CR and the LFX 11.5:1, even a small amount of oil most will result in detonation and cause knock retard. Will can verify this as well.

Let us know if you need guidance and you will also need to clean all the oil already pooled in your intake manifold out or it takes a few hundred miles of driving once the proper E2-X system is installed to clear it. Make sure you use a rag or paper towel to sop up the oil in the depression GM cast into all of the V6 intake manifolds just inside the opening where the throttle body bolts on. It will have plenty in there and it most be cleaned out.

Try it, we guarantee an improvement with out latest app. 95% effectiveness in separating and stopping this ingestion.

Well I got Will as my tuner and Elite Engineering's E2-X as my catch can so I'm as happy as can be. Will really is the best in the business if you ask me!!

He's addressing that issue with mine as well but I think he has it licked. Gotta run the E85 out and refill with gasoline to verify.

Do you offer just a clean side solution? I'm happy with my Apex catch-can and the screw off bottom. I had a valve bottom catch-can prior, and did not like the way it drained.

I've had a form of a catch-can on this car since about 500 miles (RX, and then Apex). I would hope it's not that dirty, but I guess I can dismantle the UIM on a free weekend to verify.

Did you have to buy the extra hose and caps that weren't included?
