ZLE Exhaust

Good Morning Guys,

I recently purchased a 19 ZLE and while I absolutely love the car, I'm a bit disappointed in the OEM exhaust system in terms of noise. I really wish it could be a bit louder without being obnoxious. While I've reviewed the forums on custom systems, do any ZLE owners have any recommendations? Will void my warranty?

Look into AWE exhaust from the RDPstore.com with Dynosteve on this forum. He will take care of you.

Great sounding exhaust, but does not come with NPP option. I personally like the Borla Atak. I feel like if you are going to spend that kind of money on a car, you should be able to utilize all it's functions. I love my ZLE, but can't use the suspension modes.

Is you remove the NPP, do you get a check engine light? What about tuning? I've never changed an exhaust on a car before, but on my bikes I always have to get a tune.

No CEL, you can just tie back the NPP actuators, the car will sound great without NPP, it's like leaving the valves/flaps open all the time.

We would suggest also looking at the Borla S-Type systems as well. Amazing sound and at a great price. Doing a cat back or axle back system will not void your warranty nor will you need a tune. It's a bolt on and go mod . Let us know if you have any questions on pricing! Always happy to help.

Cheers,

remove your rear cats for $60 bucks... Slight increase in sound at low cost, if you still need more sound go with a axle back

Kooks Axleback. It can be purchased for under $700. It has no valves, hit to most that's a non issue. I pulled the fuse for my valves as soon as I got the car home so i never used them anyway. Take a listen To my car here.

An axle back or cat back will improve sound and will not void your warranty nor will it trigger a CEL regardless if you eliminate the NNP. Eliminating the secondary cats could technically be claimed by a dealer as a warranty killer, but frankly that would be incorrect in nearly every instance since they are not integral to the emissions control system and should not trigger a cel if removed. No tune necessary for a cat back or axle back. Lots of great threads and videos on exhaust options.

Just pull the fuse in the fuse box. Flaps will stay open all the time.

I’m in the same boat OP. Needs more volume. And the funky way the flaps still close sometimes in the modes i think they shouldn’t, well, i may just do away with them...that’s annoying.

May remove the fuse first and make sure i don’t miss it.

I pull fuse #51 in my 2018 ZL1 1LE and my CEL comes on.

No need to pull the fuse, this is an option under settings.

No light, no tuning. If you change the exhaust this actuator would just be totally removed with no issue. Otherwise just go in to the MyLink settings and set it to open all the time. No fuse to deal with on a 2018

Got this from Phastek on my ZLE... If not this AWE system, I would recommend Corsa as you're going to find the ZLE cruises at a much higher RPM and drone is an issue.
