Question Max RPM in park (A6)

What is the max RPM the computer would allow in park or neutral?

I ask because my engine is not in a car (L99 with non DOD and with VVT) and if I mash the pedal, the engine will not go past 4000 rpm. It seems to stay there. Like there's a cap.
