They would certainly give a cleaner under hood appearance, but it's just another aesthetic piece like the factory cover. At the end of the day, I can think of better ways to spend $160.
It's like 230ish for the valve covers vs 160 for the valve cover covers. One looks better and loses some weight, the other adds a little weight and covers up some uglyness. I hate the engine cover, and generally covers of all kinds(which is why i'm stressing over the "big block" covers). I normally wouldn't buy the polished valve covers, but since they have to be removed for the cam anyway it mis kinda like getting free labor on the installation.

Just bought some skinnies. M&H Bias Ply (DOT) 26x4.5-17's Should give an interesting rake since the rears are 28x12.50-15's

I'm thinking I'm going with the polished covers. I think it will look good, plus I can list it as a weight reduction mod. lol

Do you do any street driving with your slick and skinny set up, and curious why you used M&H front runners instead of the MT fronts? Planning on getting a set of weld RT-s wheels shortly and wondering which front tire people are using these days

I actually decided to go with 28x4.5-17. Last time I checked MT does not have a 17" diameter bias ply front runner, just 15. Ya, I'll drive them to the track with the wheels on or to a car show.

I decided to go with the same diameter front because how low my chin spoiler sits.

I'm sticking with bias ply on all 4 because I can't stand the sway on the big end with a radial in the front and a bias in the rear... I know its not as bad if the front runner radial is a lot skinnier though but I just don't like it at all, plus bias weighs a little less.

As said before M&H is the only bias DOT skinny I can find that runs a 17" diameter, plus they give you the choice of 26 or 28", I originally went with 26's but changed my order to 28's.

I'll be fairly honest with you, if you're running skinnies up front (bias works well up front even with a radial rear, just not the other way around), most people I've ever came across that have a brembo brake setup up front and run a 17" wheel up there, runs the M&H even with MT or Hoosier rears.

I didn't think about the tire diameter in referance to the front runners. The last skinnys I had were bogarts on my mach and they were 15". That would explain why I always see people buying the M&H fronts.

Thanks man thats a sweet price. I will def hit you up when I get them. Now I'm having a hell of a time finding 28" tall 17" drag radials. Was figuring NT05R or MT DR but not finding them in 28". Only the M&H ones and I'm not at all familiar with them. I have had both of the other ones and liked them. I'd rather run 26" for the gearing advantage but they look retarded with the huge wheel wells of the camaro

MT ET Street Radial II's 295/45/17

Or How about M&H 275/50/17? Witt has run the M&H 275/50/17's they hook well.

I have a video of my previous 2011 cutting a 1.49 60' on the Mt 295/45/17's. They actually come out to be 27.5" So they are a good alternative too.
