P0496 Powertrain Fault Code...only 50K miles on my car

So the wife and I took a trip to Vegas over the weekend. Car is running fine, no problems. We pull into a casino parking lot and my engine light immediately comes on. About 1/4 tank of gas. Car was running fine, no issues whatsoever. Even ran fine the rest of the weekend. On Monday morning I pull into a gas station to gas up before heading back to San Diego...fill the tank full, go to start the car and it's like starting a 67 Camaro that hasn't seen the outside of a garage in 3 months. Freaking thing wouldn't start. Finally got her started and check engine light is blinking on and off for like 2 minutes. Finally settles in and stays on. Car runs fine all the way back to San Diego (with check engine light still on) and all the way into Wednesday morning when I had to fill her back up again. Same thing...takes forever to start...no blinking light this time but check engine light is still on. Now I'm concerned. I go into Walmart, buy a cheapo $35 Android tablet, order a bluetooth ODBII adapter, and download Torque Pro for the tablet. Adapter comes in Thursday evening...plug it in and it reads:

P0496 Powertrain

That's it. Not sure what to do here....any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a bone stock 2015 Automatic V6 Camaro with just a tad north of 50K miles.

Zak

That's a Purge EVAP code. No big deal the Purge Valve/Solenoid needs to be replaced. 15min job. May not be covered under Emissions warranty because of your mileage. Something you could do yourself if you're inclined. Post back with your results.

Yeah I can do it. The Purge Valve/Solenoid is under the cowl in the engine compartment, correct?

Yes, on passenger side near the throttle body. See blue tab connection in vid at about 4:20 in. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3pJHO1DjgcE

I'm not seeing anything that resembles that part or that has a blue tab anywhere near the throttle body. Only blue in the engine that I can see is in the rear of the engine compartment under the cowl....

Right. So do you know where it's at on a V6?

Apparently on a v6 it's above the rear differential near the evap canister.

Looks like you're gonna have to take it to a dealer. Sucks

The purge solenoid is on the passenger side on the v6 also. See my thread on page 13 of the general section titled check engine light on, i tried to copy the link here for you , but it didn't work. It shows a pic of the solenoid and tells you were it is located, pm me if you need to will do whatever i can to help you out with getting it changed out.
