Headers or Intake

I'm looking to pick up some low end power and will probably get both in the future but as of now, I can only affford one. I have a 12% off coupon on autoanything and it ends today, so I'm tore between getting the injen CAI or bbk long tube/DT shortie headers. looking for the most bang for my buck. Any suggestions would be great asap

That is a huge difference in price isnt it? CAI 300 - 400 and headers are around 1K give or take. Also, keep in mind that with headers you will most likely need a tune as well.

Generally a CAI is the way to start if you are on a budget.

I ended up doing intake, exhaust, headers, in that order...for no particular reason. If you want the biggest gains right off the bat, I'm thinking long tubes would be the way to go? Although, then you'll get a CEL, so if you're not comfortable driving around with it on all the time, you'll need a tune (probably want to do that anyway for the most gain).

I guess I figured I'd start small, and work my way up, so I went with the intake first.

Headers, all the way. Best bang for the buck vs a CAI. You'll get a better performing vehicle (more HP's) and better sounding too.
Eventually, when you decide to get you CAI, you may want to consider a different one. If you want the best go with Fastlane more work but rated one of the best and will get about 15hps.

Ya I can get the injen intake and the hydroshield for 302 shipped. I'm fine with the CEL but I'm looking to gain some low end first. Have cutouts and with them open I lose some low end power. But at the same time the injen looks like the best power improvements for the cheapest price right? Any other recommendations for cai's? Isn't vararam coming out with one? Ahhh the choices

I agree BBK is the best for your money. Haven't heard anything bad about about them. They are at the top of my list as well.

BBK headers if you want the most power. DT headers if you want the best price and good power. They also are ceramic coated, and BBKs you have to pay extra for that. Also, install wise BBKs might be a little bit cheaper, depends on the shop. But do the headers before the CAI.

orrrr would i see about the same with the injen intake AND DT shorties.....as with bbk long tube headers? i think i'd still come out cheaper with the 2 plus like i said, sometimes the cutouts are just too loud and wont the shorties take alittle off that? i know the LT will add

I went with intake first since it was the cheapest and easiest mod to do for HP......I went Injen CAI since it's a pretty good buy.
