The SS probably wouldn't look as bad if the "chin" was angled forward instead of back.
The RS with a splitter might actually look more aggressive than the SS.

After seeing that video walk around I like the rear and even the front a bit more.
I'm kinda up in the air on the new hood though...seems a bit dated looking to me. Sent from my VS988 using Tapatalk |

The Red was an LT 1LE, so it has a black fromt splitter. The convertible was an RS from what I understand. I think we will see a base model(LS) testing in the wild soon.

I like the rear end updates, the headlights, new blue color, etc... but I would have to budget for an RS front clip if I was in the market for a new Camaro. The SS spoiler looks even worse with the new tail lights though, didn't think that was possible, and that front end looks like one of the new Honda abominations. If GM wants to update Camaro's design to a more modern one, they have to redesign the whole car... with a lower cowl and sloping hood. This mashup of angular muscle car and modern big, blunt and "sculpted" front end just don't work together. At least IMHO.

The 6th gen was getting a lot of cross-shoppers, especially with its track prowess. There were a lot of people on this forum coming from Ford, Dodge, BMW, and Porsche. I came over from Porsche after having 4 in a row of that brand. I don't see that happening with the 2019 Camaro. It has to look good, sound good and be good. Now it is not the triple threat. Hard to buy a car that you don't want to look at.

I actually like the overall look of the refresh given they wanted to differentiate and had gone more retro except for the grille treatment with the fangs. But thats a big deal imo and lack of cohesive flow has me worried. Way too palarizing and way "out there" yet could be fixed rather easily if GM desired to do so (in variety of ways). Even if they retained the fangs but oriented them angle wise going towards outside vs inside the grille it would change the look completely. Anyway not in a market for another 2 yrs. If things dont change i will be heading straight for a ZL1. Or even an ageless Cayman GTS. But thats a different price point altogether. |

Someone posted earlier that with the controversial refresh it has done one thing, caused attention. Good or bad, at least it's attention and that alone may sell a car or two.
Otherwise with GM stellar advertising/marketing department this refresh would have been met with the sound of crickets, now it's the sound of stomping feet and crying. |

These new lights look beefy and muscular. They are far more definitively camaro with heritage going back to the 1st, 2nd, and 5th gens. The 1st gen had both dual and quad style lights depending on the year. The 2016s dual lights while awesome are little less distinct in this post Audi LED strip lighting. I can see myself doing an updated rear end to my 2016 when the time comes. |

I hate it a little less every time I see it. The SS is almost acceptable now. I know that looks are subjective, but I still would never swap an '18 for a '19. The bubble lights are okay, and maybe even a slight improvement over the previous ones, but still nothing to write home about. Interested in seeing the SS 1LE guise.
