Remote Start

Anybody else have a sucky remote start distance? I can lock/unlock from like 3-4 blocks away, but I have to be like 60 ft. within range to remote start. What's the point if I can only start when I'm damn near in the car?? It's like that for both key sets I have.

all the factory gm remote starts do not have that great of range,, gm wants you to purchase the advance 2way remote kit(with extended range) for there other vehicles if you want better range, i have this on my wife's hhr and the range still is not as good as the aftermarket units.

mainly so you can look out the window and see that your car has started.. from a couple blocks away you would never know if it did or did not start..
PS I have never had a problem with the remote start on my HHR.. It always worked as needed, just as far away as the remote locks do..

I'm in the exact same boat...I thought about seeing if any of those electronic guru's on here had tweeked anything to extend the range. Haven't come across anything as of yet.
Anybody have anything on that?

you can also to the head trick,,, hold the remote to the bottom of your chin and push the button,,, before you even post,,, go try it, you will be supprised how much distance you gain, as your head becomes a antenna.

I guess I'm the exception mine works from 200 yards plus, I would like to have louder exhaust so I can hear it start. But it has a extremely long range. Do they offer the advanced remote on the camaro?

I just purchased a viper alarm that has a 1 mile radius. However, I won't be able to test until my car gets out of the shop. You can also set the temperature inside your ride so when you get in your car the engine is ready and the cabin is nice and cozy.
