The 19th Hole - Golfers Lounge

The Golfers Lounge

There's a lounge for everything nowadays isn't there?

Let's hear about your stories, handicaps, so on so forth. Every golfer is welcome from pro to newbies. Let's discuss this wonderful yet frustrating game

Introduce yourself, handicap, home course, maybe some pics, how you got started? What did you shoot today? What was your best/worst round? Best shots? Anything

AdamZ's recommended apps-

Golf GameBook- This app is a cool app to track you and your friends scores. Just download the app, create an account, add your friends, then keep a nice little database of your scores. (I would recommend visiting their website to under stand the app)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- GolfNow.com app- this app gets you ridiculous deals. Download the app, create an account, then click "find tee times", fill out your criteria and search. Then book your tee times through the app with a credit card, show up to the course, grab your keys, hit the first hole. I play very nice courses that would normally cost $40-$60 for pennies on the dollar. I played 18 holes today for $8 18 holes riding (normally $48).

I'll start

I'm Adam, been playing since I was 13, now 22. I grew up playing at Fairfield Greens in Fairfield, Ohio. I played in High School for the Fairfield Indians varsity team all 4 years. Ended my hs career with a 74 round average after 110 rounds. After taking a year break from golf I now play for Maimi University (Ohio) and am not playing too well ...been averaging mid-high 70s lately.

Right now is the off season so I am working on the game.

The most famous course I've played is Muirfield Village in Dublin, OH. Home of the Memorial tournament.

My best shot ever is a hole-in-one on a 290 yard par 4 during a state tournament in middle school when I was 13

If anyone lives nearby or is coming through be sure to hit me up and we'll hit the links

^HA

Im military and too busy to play often enough. If I play once a YEAR I'm lucky. I can shoot anywhere from 85-105 :(

In 7 years when I retire, I'm putting myself through the Golf Academy of America!

AWESOME!! Great idea making this Adam!

I'm 17, started playing when I was 7. Started playing for my HS team as a Freshman and just this past year I was named captain, and I'll hold that title my senior year as well. Currently I'm #2 on the team, shooting around an 80 with a handicap just under 10.

Unfortunately in 2012 I lost 8 seniors from the team, but that year we won State Sectionals, and our #1 (who wants to go pro) was named the #1 golfer in the state with the low round 65 in the state tournament.

Best hole ever was at a GC in VT where I had my first par 5 Eagle. And, the most famous course I've played is the Ridgewood Country Club where the Barclays is often played.

I love golf. Great challenge. Such a hard game. Not even Tiger Woods has mastered it.

Bouncing between a 5 and 8 handicap for years now. Have to get out more than once a week if I ever want to get lower.

I started at age 30, I'm 41 now and got my handicap to 3 and ranged from 3-5 the last three years. My friends family owns three courses and got me started on the game and got lessons from them. Last year one of them talked me into going to guy he had gone to and now my handicap is sky rocketing. My best shot was 208 yard par three hole in one. I won my club championship gross division 2 years ago at Mystic Hills Golf Club Culver IN.
I played this morning 4 birdies first 6 holes, shot 2 under on the front and the dreaded s word snuck up and bit me on the back.

In all seriousness, I started at 38 and now am 44. My handicap is 14 mostly because I cannot play as much as I like. I am very fortunate to be a member of Kingwood Country Club where we have four different 18 hole courses from one club house and another 18 hole course 2 miles away. I have 90 holes at my home club with 3 driving ranges. I just wish I could play more than 1 time a week.

Before I moved, I would play once or twice a week. Now I play once or twice a month if I am lucky. Handy cap?? I am happy under the century mark.

I'm 30 and started playing at 10. Handicap is currently a 7 and I'm obsessed with it. Shot an 80 today...

Started playing when I was 6. I still have the hickory shaft club my grandfather cut down for me to hit balls around the apple orchard. I'm 51 now and my wife and I play every weekend. Before moving to Chicago we belonged to a private club where it was easy to play in 3 1/2 hours. Now playing muni golf again we often get stuck playing 5 hour rounds. Grrrrrrrrrrr I love the new adds the USGA is sponsoring "while we're young!"

Currently playing to a 5.6 index.

Just bought a set of the new Rocketbladez irons from Taylormade. Not liking them much but luckily they have a 30 playability guarantee.

Of course I just got an email from Titleist that my 2nd choice of irons, the AP2, is about to be replaced. So if I buy them they'll be the previous model.

Good start on the golfers lounge. Could be fun.

I've been playing for several years... more recently been playing 2 or 3 times a week but a new job is hampering that. I was a caddie at Pinehurst... mostly carried on #2 there... which is absolutely stunning!

Currently I shoot in he low 80s consistently with a 70 something every now and again. I can't seem to get away from that one vad shot that just kills a good game!

I just recently bought everything Callaway X Hot pro so I'm goin through the growing pains of learning new clubs.... but will say that these are the best clubs I've hit thus far. I was looking at AP2 712s and decided to try these and wow.... I'm very impressed!
