I have been contemplating switching to the leather boot, but losing the indicator is a bit of a concern. I know it is on the dash and once you get the feel, you really don't need an indicator.
I was thinking about mounting this at the base of the center console trim. But see two issues. Obviously the indicator is designed to show PRND123 and the Camaro is PRNDM. Getting past that, not sure if simply wiring it to the proper wires would work. The tranny is 6 speeds, so PRND123456 is not possible. Would have to settle for "1" to be the equivalent to "M".

I just ordered a couple of custom shift knobs from EPCO with a lapel pin embedded in them that I sent them. The customer service was great and I will post pictures when they come in. In the mean time I got a marbled SS knob
