Front licence plate placement

hey I know that most states dont require a front licence plate, only rear..... Im living in NYC until i move to florida in august and my 2SS should be here in july... and I believe that NY requires a front licence plate (i could be wrong) ...

anywho, where would it go? I havnt seen anyones camaro with one on the front, nor do i see a place where it would go nicely

They deliver a front license plate bracket on the car and it's got a flat front for the plate, and a V shaped back to fit over the front bumper. There are no holes in the bumper so they have to be drilled.

MD requires the front license plate too but I think it ruins the look of the car so I don't have one on mine, and no matter how many tickets I get, it's not getting put on.

Which 99% of all Camaro owners will not want.

You have 3 options:

1) Drill the plate bracket in the front fascia.

2) Use the search function on the forum to look for all the ideas to rig together a non-drilled, hideaway bracket, with license plate on the front

3) No plate at all

3, imo.

It is a sad fact that they have to drill holes into the front bumper. I am up in Maine and had to have the front plate to even pass inspection. There is a bracket that is made for the Camaro. It does not look that bad with the front plate. It looks better without it. I got use to it quickly though.

I don't think it looks all that bad with the front plate.
I've seen worse.
It is required in NY - not having one is an equipment violaton and gives cause for a cop to stop you, and possibley cite you for not having one.
I dont think FL requires a front plate.

If they law requires it they will probably install it unless you specifically tell them not to install. Most dealers will accomodate you and not install it if you don't want it installed, after all, they won't get the ticket you will, so what do they care.

For what it's worth - I installed my front plate this afternoon (NY). The bottom of the plate bracket fits in the lower grillwork 2nd tier, I drilled and extra hole on the outboard side of each top rivet hole and threaded wire ties around the upright grill stanchion behind the rivet hole and tightened them up. Plate bracket mounted NO drilling.
Optional: cut a short piece of vacuum hose and put a slit so it goes around the top of the plate bracket to protect your paint.

You don't need to drill them. Search online for people who have built alternatives... if anything you can just throw it in the dash.

looks horrible. Just don't put one on, sign a waiver from the dealer, and take your chances. Usually it's only a 200 dollar non moving ticket.
