I didn't take mine off. I just used these tools and raised the rear slightly for more hand room. I used the small socket to hold the T15 for the 1/4 ratchet

Maybe I’m crazy - this bothered me too. I wrapped the portion that comes into contact with the fender in some electrical tape to maybe reduce the amount of scraping. The car will never see inclement weather sooo should be okay anyway.

Zl1 addons clips cause rust
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=609296
I commented on this in another thread. The clips provided by zl1 addons for the front flaps do cause rust/corrosion. I bought some ones to replace them after removing and treating the rust the original ones caused |

ugh, I bought these splash guards and just installed last night. I wish I'd have seen this thread because those clips are complete garbage. It didn't occur to me until it was too late that they would cause damage if I wasn't extremely careful, and of course on my first attempt the clip went in between the guard and the fender and scratched the crap out of the paint where it will be easily visible if I ever remove the guards. I followed that up by immediately slicing my thumb open on the near razor-sharp exposed edge of the installed clip when I was wiping things down after install (now I have to worry about my 4-yr old son brushing up against my car and getting cut open. Plus I couldn't get the lower clip to fit on the passenger side of my car. In hindsight I'd have paid the extra money for the ACS guards and I still might swap them out. There has to be something better than those metal clips and I'm surprised I hadn't seen complaints about them in my research before I bought them.
