V6 stock muffler answer.

I just ck'd. my V6 muffler (as I said I would) with a 8oz. lead sinker on a string, it will not fall thru the muff. So I can say 99% for sure that the V6 mufflers are NOT STRAIGHT Thru ! They are like the V8 L99 mufflers. We know that the L99's are NOT straight thru from the PHOTOS in the following Thread............ Here's the thread. The LS3 SS mufflers are pretty much a straight through design...But NOT the L99's http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...leave+mufflers But check out post # 104 to see the L99 A6 mufflers (yikes)... If anyone would cut open their V6 muffler before they scrap it that would be GREAT......... It would be nice to see a photo of it........ |

Don't Like it? Suggit.

No kidding, I like it! Still adjusting to the 350z-esque sound coming from that rear end, but it sounds good! Def sounds a bit more aggressive, and the idle shows up alot more... Nice mod!

But - LS3 will probably flow better than L99, and both will flow better than stock. - X

I am picking up a set of LS3 mufflers this weekend from a guy local here in Central Florida so once I get them installed I will post HD vids.

This is the factory H-PIPE, i replaced it with this magnaflow X-pipe on my SS, its a direct fit. The V6 has the same H-pipe( different diameter), i think this would help also. I noticed that it made the tone deeper after i installed it. Might be an idea to use on the V6......
heres the link to it. i believe the V6 exhaust is 2.250(2 1/4) http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/10790/10002/-1 I know on V6 mustangs it makes a noticeable difference in the sound Last edited by BLACK10; 11-24-2009 at 04:11 PM. |
