Camaros in the news: Two young men dead along with 2 Camaros
Pennsylvania: 22 driver and 18 year old passenger killed. One passenger injured. Was driver Camaro5 member? They were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected.:(
http://www.altoonamirror.com/page/co...id/530953.html Canada: Hope this guy wasn't a member. Leaving scene of accident not cool. http://thechronicleherald.ca/Front/9016898.html

That is terrible. Like an officer friend of mine says - a 400Hp 4,000 lb car can be a lot more dangerous than any gun ever made.
Please C5 members - always remember to wear your seat belts and drive responsibly. This was no accident. It should never have occurred. :( P.S. Totally off topic, but cool Avatar pic. |

This is why there are so many groans when a young guy pops up with a thread about their new Camaro. The maturity level just isn't there and even in the rare case when it is the skill to control a 400+hp car definitely isn't. Sad story. :(

This is why I always "freek" when I here that some 16 years old just got a new SS Camaro from there parents. I remember what I did at 16, 17 and 18 years old and the cars I had then were not as powerful and FAST as the SS camaro. Most of the cars I had back then only would muster up a top speed of 120MPH if I was lucky, the new Camaro will go 150+ MPH. People, young and old, BE CAREFUL AND THINK ABOUT YOUR ACTIONS CAN DO!

This is very eye opening. I am 22 years old and I just purchased a new camaro. Although, i believe i am a little bit more mature than most 22 year olds you might meet. I know where to drive fast (freeway speedlimit) and where to stick to the speed limit.

Two of the big ones, not wearing seat belts, and speeding will do it every time. A shame, because it could have been avoided.

The car then ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, overturned several times and struck a large tree, police said. The car then overturned again and came to rest on its roof." This is terrible....I hope the best for his family

Generalizations and stereotypes are rarely helpful. This is a senseless, tragic accident and our sympathies and concerns should be with the families and friends affected.
