A special moment. Congrats to Jr, and Mr. Hendrick. It was one for the ages.

It will be interesting to see if parts and repairs are more similar to Chrysler or Ferrari.

Having driven several road course ready street car Camaros I believe I have a very good idea of what the Z/28 is like on track. The last Alfa I drove was built in 1983.

On the other hand, The T2 Solstice GXPs were AWESOME at track ready weights of about 3,100. SCCA Club Racing 2007 National Championship Runoffs the Pontiac Solstice GXP placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Touring 2 (T2) and the Pontiac Solstice placed first place in Showroom Stock B (SSB) even after being penalized 200 lbs between the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Those GMPP tuned GXPs were a bit over 300 HP.

The Alpha will be a few ponies short, but almost 1,000 pounds lighter. The initial allocations are so small I doubt I'll get a chance to get behind the wheel for some time, but I am intrigued by the HP / weight.

Alpha's ...meh...., never really cared for them...always were a back of the pack Euro performer to me in my mind, it's tiny...and clostrophobic. They just don't have the Italian chic. Just sayin'..I put them in Fiat's catagory. But that's just me being me....

Being a Jr fan, I was extremely pleased with the Daytona 500 results. Nice Camaro pace car for the race, great performance from several of the Chevrolet teams and a very exciting race.

As an added plus for Chevy, the Camaros aren't nearly as flammable as the SS Pace Cars...

Ehhhh really it had nothing to due with the SS.... It was the equipment that was installed for the extra lights and such.
