Another ZL1 1LE delivered

Finally took delivery and had a chance to drive it around a bit. First impressions:

1. It certainly looks the part with all the aero bits and the exposed carbon is really nice.
2. I am actually amazed they released this car for production with springs this stiff! It should be great on track, but those thinking about buying this car and not using it primarily as a track car will likely be very surprised by the ride quality. It is ultra stiff even compared to the Nissan GTR and Porsche GT4. You have been warned!
3. Very driveable, other than the firm ride it's very comfortable and easy to drive on the street.
4. They really corked the exhaust...looking at the crimped pipes under the axles I see why it's so quiet. Might have to get a cat back to open it up a bit.
5. Recaros fit great for me and the ventilation works well in the 100 plus degree Texas heat.
6. Tons of torque on tap from the LT4
7. Steering and brakes are a bit numb compared to other cars, but turn in and bite are very good. Very little body roll as you would expect.
8. As others have said, initial clutch engagement from a stop is a bit weird and the clutch pedal is super light. Will take some time to adjust.
9. Tons of grip and the car feels very planted, much less skittish compared to the C7 Z06.

I applaud GM and the Camaro folks for producing this car, well done! If it can take a beating on track without overheating or otherwise eating itself it should be a ton of fun! We will see after my first track weekend at the end of September.

Shout out to HyperBlueX2!

Congrats!

Beautiful car and pics, enjoy it!

Btw....IMO...the wing looks much less "tall" in person.

Actually really fits the car well.

Such sexy cars I was not really into it until I saw it in person at the Rodgers Chevrolet show back in May. The car just looks mean as hell and ready to kick some A$$

EM - if you do not mind, I will come find you at COTA. I am running CHIN this weekend and then Edge in late September? I probably be in the silver SS 1LE.

Yes, the Camaro feels a little numb coming from the GT4, but turn in and front end grip is MUCH MUCH BETTER. You are going to be real happy running sub 2:30 in American Muscle with NO MODS. And compared to the P world, running cost feels free . . .

Congrats on the gorgeous car!!!

That is the color Id choose. Very nice.

I would not give much thought about it holding up at the track. The car has been in circulation for 9 months, sans the aero and susp and has been pretty flawless, sans a few gremlins that occasionally pop up with regards to the computer.

Thanks, certainly stop by at COTA and say hi, I'd love to see your 1LE! I wanted to make Chin, but won't be able to get everything ready in time. I am thinking sub 30 should be doable for me. I ran 31's in my GT4, so I'm hoping the ZL1 will be a bit quicker once I get aquainted.

Thanks! I am a little leary because I had overheating and various other problems with my C7 Z06 on track, so this is a large leap of faith for me given the issues with that car. Fingers crossed!
