SS vs 5.0
Before everyone starts yelling at me that this has been discussed, I know it has but not with the same mods and stuff. So a kid that lives by me has a 2013 5.0 with track pack and a cat back exhaust. I have an ss with full exhaust, cold air intake and dyno tune. I'm making 422 hp and 411 torque. Both cars are stick. Not saying I'm a pro drag racer but I'm deffinetly better then him. Who would win? I'm guessing it would be pretty close. Who would win from a dig? 50mph roll?

It's a driver's race in stock form. If the two of you are of equal driving talent, then he with the most mods will probably win. If you are a better driver, and his only mod is cat back exhaust (no intake or tune), you'll probably win more often than not given your mods.

^what he said. Catbacks add a couple hp on those cars I believe, though they do nothing for us. He might as well be stock though. The track pack does have 3.73's so that will help him a little but I believe most track tested 5.0s have that option.

The Camaro should win with your mods even from a dig...

I have a 2010 SS M6 with cold air, headers, and tune. My brother-in-law have a 2011 5.0 M6 with cold air, shorty headers, and tune. He takes me off the line but once I hit 2nd gear I pull past him and keep walking. We usually level out with me about 3-5 car lengths out all the way to 130+mph

I'm dead serious.... Off the line he gets a hell of a jump but once I hit 2nd I pull hard and am passing if not nosed out on him when I go to third. In a quarter I'm atleast half a car to a full car ahead and am steadily pulling.

It's so bad he got pissed and went and ordered longtubes, boss intake manifold, throttle body and 3.73 gears.

It was awesome Jeff. After all that talking he was doing. Now he is trying to hurry and order whatever he can before I get my cam installed.

My nephew and another guy in town the same way. But they aren't even 5.o. They are running 4.6's and still talking shit.
I'm about to get Jason to custom grind another cam and mill the heads. Keep in touch brotha.

I can see it. Not all the 5.0s run super strong and if it has the stock 3.15 gears in the A6 or the stock 3.31 gears for the M6. Also the driver in the mustang may not know to push it to redline every shift that's where that little 5.0 is happy. Unlike our 6.2 when I was stock it did not pull very hard after 6k about the time the 5.0 would come alive.

Like I said he was out in front of the line. Once I hit second I pulled to even or slightly passed. Hit third and pull away. Hit fourth and might have pulled slightly but all in all leveled out. I let out between 135 and 140. Maybe it's in my tune? All I know is it did it. If we are both on days off at the same time again ill borrow a buddies GoPro and turn it around backwards for everyone to see.
