i was wondering if any one knows if the 9 speaker involves a sub wolfer or not

from what I have read there is no sub in the boston acoustics sound system....ADD your own lol

It is really not a good system at all, IMO. It is the one aspect of my 2SS I am really disappointed in.

i had a 2lt before my 1ss, and it sounded better, way more bass in the 2lt. weird i dunno

I am pretty sure they don't have a wolfer....now subWOOFER on the other hand there is one on the back window deck.

Really? It blows away the Bose system I had in my G35. I think it's awesome.

I'm not sure whether it has a legitimate subwoofer, but it has something, at the very least. There's a song by Avenged Sevenfold that uses sub beats that don't come through regular speakers, but the beats are definitely pronounced in the Camaro.

ok thank all i have a 10 inch pioneer sub in a carpeted box that i was going to add to the system. i did not know if that was going to be a better or worse deal for the system.

which avenged song??? i've got subs in my truck but not in my 1ss and i'd like to hear what your saying. lol.

There is no sub. There are:

2 6x9's in the rear deck lid
2 6 1/2" in the doors (on these are small horns that they count as two speakers) so a total of four "speakers" in the doors.
Two tweets
One center channel in the dash

9 "speakers" total

But the 6x9's use the trunk as a box so you get some pretty good bass out of this setup.

It's good for stock. I personally don't need anything else. I'd really rather just listen to the sweet hum of my LS3 and the "click" and "rattle" of my Hurst short throw!!

Correct there is no SUB.

The rear 6x9 are bi-amplified so they at least have dedicated woofer cones in them. You can get decent bass out of them, but turned up I dont think they will last very long. I replaced everything in my car with JL audio and an Alpine PDX5 amp, I could not be happier!!

Add subs and you will love it - I did and I love it.

What got me was the claim to 9 speakers. Its a a little decieving because the front dash and rears are split into hi low in order to get to 9. but I could be wrong.

did you hook the kenwood wolfers to the BA 9 speaker and if you did, did you have to use an amp or just go staight to another speaker.

"Scream" off of their self titled album. You'll hear the rhythmic power chord and then a fast fill that sounds a little like the musical scales used in a slot machine. On my stereo, I only hear those, but in my Camaro (and previously my G35) I hear a sub between the two.

Sorry. It's hard to describe. If you have the DVD that comes with the special edition, they talk about adding the subs to the song.
