I have the same noise. My wife drove her car beside mine and said its louder outside of the vehicle than you think. Its only at lower rpms when I start to speed up. Very annoying if you ask me for a car I paid 65k for. I also have the rubbing noise in the rearend and have had the dealership change the rear fluids. Still there!!! I plan on bringing it back to the dealership and discussing the exhaust noise and changing the fluid in the rear again. My dealership acted like they had no clue about the issues... UGH!

Yeah I've seen a couple other vids on YouTube with similar sounds, I don't think it really matters.

That sound is normal if the system is operating (meaning that you don't have a Mild2Wild or some other aftermarket switch installed).

That mechanical "clack" is the sound of the valves closing when you rev up, and opening again when the engine spins back down to idle.

I have the same problem at start up. Mine is also a 6 speed. It seems to quiet down after the exhaust warms up a bit.

My 2014 (automatic) ZL1's exhaust made a light rattlesnake-like rattle coming from the back which increased in frequency with the increase in RPM. It did not rattle when parked, when revving in park, or at any point in driving when the gas pedal was not being pushed (braking / deceleration). It also never went away no matter how warmed up it was.

IT DROVE ME NUTS!

Did a fuse pull this weekend and the sound is completely gone.

Phht. Aye-aye, Captain!

And actually, because I was responding to the Neil's BlackZL1's original question, which, due to the ambiguity with which it was phrased allows room for interpretation, it does fix this problem. Perhaps not his problem, but my car's problem could have been described the exact same way and the fuse pull fixed it.

Trust me, I know.

Thing is I pulled my fuse as well and I still hear the flaps as I decelerate.

I just got a DashLogic box and it will hold my flaps open or closed. I wonder if holding them closed would solve your noise issues?
