Exclamation wtf is this?! 😮

On break at work today, i noticed this strange piece of thick fabric hanging from my drivers side wheel well. It was halway coming out, so i tugged at it a little bit until i got it out. I have no clue what this is, how it got there, if it was from the inside of my car.. And what purpose it served. If anybody has any idea, please let me know. Im curious.

That is sound and heat type insulation. I don't know where it is on the camaro. Something not covered in metal I would expect to be attached to the bottom of the hood or under the dash or carpet. If you aren't missing any under the hood I'd guess the car in front of you is now.

It looks like either the front fender to door seal or the sound deadner for the wheel well housing. However, the front fender to door seal on mine is foam material, not pressed insulation backing like that one.

It should sit at the back of your front fender on the inside vertically. Meaning not where you can see it with the door open, but other side of the back of the fender. Hope that makes sense, 13 hour work day plus 3 hours paperwork and night time meds.

Take your inner wheelwell spash shield off and put it back in there. It's insulation between the wheel opening and door.

This guy has the right answer. When I put my 3-D carbon vents in. The back side of the front fenders near the doors in the wheel well is where that is from.

Open the door and look inside the front fender. You will see something black in there and that will be the inner fender liner insulator.

It may be black foam like mine. The early cars probably had that hood insulation type material and then they changed to the foam sponge like stuff on the later models.
